3445 Frederick Avenue Loudon Park National Cemetery was established in 1862 with most of the original interments coming from Baltimore hospitals. Nearby, Fort McHenry served as a prison camp during the war. A number of Confederate soldiers died while imprisoned there and they were buried here. In addition, approximately 299 remains from the soldiers’ lots in Laurel Cemetery, MD were reinterred here in 1884. There are a total of 7,140 interments. The darker green L-shaped section in the center of the map is the National Cemetery; the portion to the left and on the bottom is part of the public Loundon Park Cemetery.
