Death of Asa Burnap

Last week we mentioned the death of Asa Burnap of Somerset on April 26. He was well known for many miles around especially to fishermen who have frequented that resort. Mr. Burnap was born in Newfane about 46 years ago, the son of Asa Burnap. His father exchanged his farm in Newfane for that of Hazelton Rice in Somerset about 30 years ago. Mr. Burnap had represented Somerset in the Legislature and held many town offices. He was a veteran of the Civil war and a member of C. B. Lawton Grand Army post several of whom attended the funeral on Saturday. He leaves a widow and three sons. The family have the sympathy of many friends in the vicinity.
