Ira Chaplin

Ira was the son of Asa Chaplin and Amelia Keeler. He married Sarah Elizabeth Arnold, and by her had five children: Sarah Elizabeth, Green Arnold, Asa, Harriet, and Ira. His VT death index card shows he died 9 May 1868. It appears there was an error in the spelling of his surname when his veteran's grave marker was ordered 11 years later, so it reads Caplain instead of Chaplin. His widow married second Amos Waters. His mother appears to have been widowed by the 1850 New Berlin, WI census.
