Rutland Daily Herald, October 9, 1917 DEATH OF MICHAEL CLOWRY
Michael Clowry died at his home in East Wallingford at 10 o'clock yesterday morning after a brief illness of disease complications incident to old age.
He was born in County Carle, Ireland, 83 years ago and came to this country when a boy. He spent the greater part of his life in Mt. Holly as a farmer, moving to Rutland in 1898, remaining here until about three years ago when he moved to East Wallingford.
He belonged to Company H, 14th Vermont regiment in the Civil war, and saw active service at Gettysburg.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W. K. Browne and Mrs. H. L. Duval, one grandson, Francis Doty of East Wallingford, and one stepson, J. R. Long of White River Junction.
The funeral will be held at the Catholic church in Mt. Holly at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning with burial at Ludlow.
