Oscar P. Davis, whose death we mentioned last week, was born Oct. 27, 1824, and was a member of Co. A, 12th Reg., Vt. Vols., and with the exception of a few years, always lived in Hartland. He was the last of a family of eight children, was married Sept., 1845, to Emily Maria Barrell, also of Hartland, who died July 12, 1890. The had but one child, W. E. Davis, with whom he had lived for several years.
