The death of Daniel M. Durkee occurred Thursday afternoon, Feb. 18. He was confined to the bed eleven days due to a gradual decline, caused by Bright's disease complicated with heart trouble. He was 81 years of age and a Civil war veteran. He was an old resident of this place, where he had many friends. He is survived by his third wife, Mrs. Ida (Clark) Durkee, also his daughter, Mrs. Frank Young, and several grandchildren. The funeral was held at his late home Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. Frank Place officiating. The body was placed in the tomb to be buried in the family lot in East Randolph cemetery.
