JOHN EDSON, son of James Edson, born in Scotland, aged 33, drafted at Greensboro, Aug, 28, '63, mustered as a recruit for Co. D., 4th Reg; joined the company at Brandy Station, Va.; remained with it until wounded by a Minnie ball in both knees, at the Wilderness, May 5, '64, sent to the Union Hospital at Fredericksburg; died May 18, '64, and buried there.
