Timothy Emerey, Last Civil War Veteran of Town, Is Dead

Timothy Emery, one of Groton's oldest citizens and the last old soldier of the Civil war, passed away at his shome in the west part of the town last Friday morning. The funeral was Sunday in the M. E. church, Rev. F. L. Daniels officiating. He was 83 years of age in June. Mrs. Emery died several years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Hollis Lund of Wells River and Mrs. Lewis Lund of this town, and four sons, Ammon, Thomas, Alfred and Archie. The youngest son, Allen, died just a week before his father's death. There are several grandchildren. Burial was in the village cemetery.
