WILLIAM H. EMERY
William H. Emery was born in Craftsbury, July 17, 1840. Nearly the whole of his life was spent in Eden. When the Civil War broke out he enlisted and served several months.
Dec. 25, 1866, he was united in marriage to Mary Bigelow. To this union were born five children; George D., Nora, Nellie, Zelda, and Henry W. The only surviving members of the family are George of Johnson, Nellie Davis of Bristol, and Henry W. of Eden.
On Nov. 4, 1926 he was married to Mrs. Hannah Lanphear, who survives him.
The funeral was held from the Eden Mills Church on Sunday, Oct.13, the Rev V.A. Ober of Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Eden Cemetery beside his first wife, who died July, 1921.

Delbert Emery, and son George, of Jericho, Mr. and Mrs Allen of North Troy, Mrs. Blanche Collins and Miss Butts, Guy Newton, and Mrs E.H. Mudgett of North Hyed Park, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Lanphear and Alton Mills of Albany, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lanphear of Greensboro, Everest Samples of Barre and George Mosley of Richmond
Mr. Emery had been a member of Mt. Norris Lodge, No. 69, for a great many years. The order attended in a body and conducted the services at the grave.
Mr. Emery was a respected citizen and will be greatly missed by neighbors and friends.
