Clarendon Springs
Funeral of Ira Everest.

Largely attended funeral services were held at the Everest home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Ira Everest, 84-year-old Civil War veteran, who died Friday. There were many floral tributes from relatives, friends and neighbors. The Clarendon Springs Parent-Teacher association and the local school sent pieces.

The bearers were Harry H. Everest, Harold Everest, Avery Peck, Henry Austin and Claude S. Seamans of this place and Erwin Smith of Clarendon. Rev. Burton Marsh of West Rutland officiated. The burial was in Chippenhook cemetery.

Out-of-town people present at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. William Gerard and Mrs. S. H. Mitchell and son, Merritt, of South Wallingford, Mrs. and Mrs. Erwin Smith of Clarendon, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Everest, Mrs. Julia Barker, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jasmin, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Crossman, Carroll Seamans, Miss Hazel Seamans and Mrs. Frank Bishop of Rutland, George Davis and Mrs. Ella Seamans of West Rutland, and Charles A. Spafford of north Clarendon..

Mr. Everest is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Avery Peck, a granddaughter, Mrs. Henry Austin, and seven great-grandchildren.
