Remarks: WPA Graves Registration Card indicates that there is a cenotaph at the Old Cemetery in Benson, VT. There is also a Find a Grave memorial (110651191) that states the presence of a cenotaph. The transcription book by Margaret Jenks states that the Town Clerk's Office has a record of this cenotaph, but Margaret Jenks lists the cenotaph as missing. The plot containing the graves of the soldier's parents contains a missing stone; only the base is visible. It is possible that the cenotaph once stood at this location, but we have been unable to confirm this.
