Frank Goodroe of First Vermont Cavalry Died at Soldiers' Home
Frank Goodroe died at the Soldiers' home of paralysis on the evening of Memorial Day, aged 19 (sic) years, he having been born in New Haven, Vt., Feb. 22, 1839. Five brothers, living in Ripton and Middlebury survive. They are Isaac, Levi, Joseph, Edward and John; the latter serving in the same company. Frank enlisted from Middlebury, Sept. 25, 1861 in Co. K, First Vt. Cavalry, was promoted corporal, and was mustered out Nov. 18, 1864. He has been an inmate of the Soldiers' home since April 24, 1917.
