Biography

DANIEL GORTON

Enlisted from Huntington, Vt., September 10, 1862, at the age of 27 years, as a private in Company F, 13th Vt. Vol. Inf., and mustered into the service October 10, 1862, and was with the regiment until mustered out July 21, 1863. Died at his home in Huntington, Vt., August 1, 1891.

Obituary

HUNTINGTON

Our community was shocked last Saturday by the sudden death of Daniel Gorton. On Thursday afternoon f last week Mr. Gorton went out to work in the hay field on his farm and was seen by the help to fall. He was carried to the house unconscious and on Saturday afternoon died. Funeral services took place at his residence last Monday Rev. E. E. Fuller of Starksboro officiating.
