DAVID'S ISLAND, N.Y.: June 24th, of typhoid fever, John S. Griswold, son of Luther and Arthusa P. Griswold, aged 19 years, and 8 months. The deceased was a member of Co. A, 6th Regt., and from this town.

He was anaffectionate and obedient son, a kind and loving brother, a friend loving and beloved by all who knew him, a studious and earnest sabboth school scholar, a member of the choir, a christian soldier, and a faithful lover of his country's fallen, doing service for the cause of liberty and humanity

His untimely death we deeply mourn, but his memory we shall ever cherish as one who has not lived in vain.

Funeral services will be held at North Hyde Park on Sunday the 24th, inst.. Relatives and friends are requested to be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Griswold at 12 o'clock, P.M.
