Obituary

Northfield
George Hakey, Civil War Veteran, died Friday.

George Hakey, one of the few veterans of the Civil war, died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Bliss, in Peekskill, N. Y. The remains will be brought to Northfield this (Saturday) afternoon and funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Kingston and Morse's undertaking parlors, Rev. George H. Howes, pastor of the United church, will officiate. Members of the Sons of Veterans will be bearers and act as an escort.

The deceased was 84 years of age and had been in failing health for some time. He had been with his daughter during the past winter.
