Death of William Hayes, An Old Citizen and A Veteran.

William Hayes, for many years a resident of this town and a veteran of the Civil War, died Friday afternoon after a short illness with pneumonia. Mr. Hayes was 86 years of age and had been in quite good health until the past few months. He is survived by one son, William, of this place, with whom he made his home for the past year. The funeral was held at the home Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. P. A. Smith officiating.
