Rutland Daily Herald & Globe, April 6, 1883:
The funeral of George Eddy was held at the Methodist Episcopal church yesterday. The services were conducted by Rev. D.R. Lowell, chaplain, and Post Commander Woodward of Roberts post, G.A.R., of which organization the deceased was a member. The services were conducted under the ritual in accepted use by the G.A.R. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb in the West street cemetery. Post Roberts was represented by 76 men.
