Obituary

Northfield. - John H. Edson, junior partner of the firm of Belknap & Edson, also member of Belknap, Ely & Co., died at his residence on Vine street in this village, on Friday last of typhoid fever, after an illness of about two weeks. Mr. Edson was and had been for many years closely identified with the business interests of this village and town, and had gained an enviable distinction for probity of character, business foresight and zeal. In the prime of life, with his work unfinished, his many plans for life just fairly developing but far from completed, his busy career is ended and his labors are done. His loss is deeply lamented, not alone by the immediate circle of wife and near relatives, but by all who knew him.
