LINCOLN -- Sylvester Hodges, a resident of this town for many years, died in Bristol Saturday morning, at the age of 73 years, after a long illness. Mr. Hodges wife and son died many years ago and leaves no near relatives. He had spent several of the later years of his life in California, where he acquired considerable money in fruit growing. Because of failing health he returned home and his last years have been spent in Bristol and this town. The remains were brought here this afternoon, and funeral services held in the Baptist Church, Rev. Raymond McFarland of Bristol officiating. The bearers were D. L. Garland, I. J. Morgan, Arthur Varney, Charles Purinton and Jason Green of this town, and Frank Whittier of Hancock.
