Death of Calvin Holt

Calvin Holt, one of the old residents of the “hill” died at Graniteville a little past 12 o’clock today. Mr. Holt has been in poor health for a year or more and his death was principally due from old age. Mr. Holt was the first man to carry the mails between Barre and Graniteville, a task he performed for six years. He was an honest, upright man, always obliging and respected by all. He was 72 years old at his last birthday. He leaves a widow.
