Remarks: An act of Congress (Senate Bill 402, 72nd Congress) approved March 3, 1933 provides "That in the administration of any laws conferring rights, privileges, and benefits upon honorably discharged soldiers, Nelson King, who was a member of Co. A, Fifth Regiment Vermont Volunteer INF, shall hereafter be held and considered to have been honorably discharged from the military service of the United States as a PVT of that organization on the 13th day of September, 1864; provided, that no bounty, back pay, pension, or allowance shall be held to have accrued prior to passage of this act."

Nelson King died at his home, Tuesday night from heart trouble. Funeral services were held at the church at Berkshire Center Friday.
