The Vermont Journal, July 6, 1899
The sixth death at the Vermont Soldiers' Home, Bennington falls to be recorded. Richard Kusic, a veteran of the 8th Vermont regiment died Friday. The immediate cause was apoplexy. Kusic, however, had reached the limit of the allotted span. He served during the whole of his regiment's services in the war and was admitted to the home on the 8th of March, last.
