Obituary
Elverton W. Loomis died Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Knapp a few miles out of the city on the Middlesex road. He was 55 years of age and has been a resident of this city for the past 10 years. He enlisted in Co. F, 2d Vt. Regiment, and lost an arm at the battle of Savage Station June 29, 1862, and was taken prisoner at the time but was paroled the following September. For several years he was employed in the custom house at Burlington. The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m., and the remains will be interred in the family lot in Green Mount cemetery.
