Biography

HIRAM MARTIN

Enlisted from Underhill, Vt., September 10, 1862, at the age of 23 years, as a private in Company P, 13th Vt. Vol. Inf. Mustered into the service October 10, 1862, and mustered out July 21, 1863. Residence, Waitsfield, Vermont.

Obituary

WAITSFIELD

Hiram Martin, a Civil War veteran died Saturday afternoon at his home on Waitsfield common. He was born in Jericho March 6 1829, and enlisted from Underhill in the 13th Vermont Infantry, Company F, at the age of 23. The funeral was held Monday afternoon with interment at Irasville. The surviving relatives are his son, John Martin, of this town, one daughter, Mrs. Charles Courtney, of Rochester, also several grandchildren.
