The death of Austin McKenzie occurred yesterday afternoon at his home on Centre street of heart failure, Mr. McKenzie had been in poor health for some time. He was 72 years of age, and is survived by four daughters, Jennie and Margaret of Hinesburg, Mattie of North Troy, and Lizzie of this city; and four sons, Austin of this city, Walter of Chazy, N.Y., Thomas and James of Hinesburg.
Mr. McKenzie enlisted in Company M., 1st Vermont cavalry on May 16, 1863, and was honorably discharged on August 9, 1865. The funeral will be held Wednesday at ten o'clock at St. Mary's Cathedral, with interment in St. Joseph's cemetery.
