At the Marine Hospital, Barrancas, Fla., Jan 4th, after an illness of seven weeks with typhoid fever, Frank Muzzy, son of Fran and Phoebe Muzzy, aged 20 years.
He was a member of Co. E., 7th regiment, and a man loved and respected by all who knew him. A little more than two years ago, at his country's call, he enlisted in the service of his country, and has remained a faithful soldier until he got an honorable discharge by death.
May God comfort and sustain the mourning friends, as they deeply mourn the loss of a son, brother, and friend.
Away from home he died
With only strangers near
Without one friendly hand
To wipe the falling tear
He's gone, he's gone, forever gone!
The one we loved so dear.
For in a distant land he lies,
And never will come near
Enlisted in his country's call.
A soldier brave was he;
But I shall never see his face,--
O how it sorrows me.
We hope he's gone to find his rest,
Far in the happy land;
Where we will try some future day
To join the heavenly band
We'll take the track and we'll pursue
The road that leads us there.
Hoping one future day to meet,
The one we love so dear.
