James Perkins, who died in West Rutland Sunday, was a native of this place. He was a son of the late Woodbury Perkins. When quite young he enlisted from here in the 14th Vermont regiment and served with the regiment his full term of service. For the past twenty years he has resided in West Rutland. His remains came here Tuesday for burial in the family lot in our cemetery, the funeral services having been previously held at his late home. The services at the grave were conducted by his comrades of Sennott Post, G.A.R.
