Death of Civil War Veteran

Benjamin Poland, of Waitsfield, died Sunday, January 7, from the effects of a fall, which broke one hip some three weeks ago. Mr. Poland served during the last year of the war in Co. G, 6th Vt. Vols. He leaves a wife whom he married January 11, 1847, they having lived together nearly fifty-nine years.
