Obituary
Death of Charles Porter
Charles Porter died Wednesday in Middlebury at the home of his son, William Porter. He was born in Orwell July 4, 1843. In September, 1864 her enlisted in Company A, second Vermont infantry, and received his discharge at close of the war. Mr. Porter was mustered into the G.A.R. February 6, 1891. The survivors are his wife, two sons and two daughters. The body will be brought to Poultney today and the funeral will be held this afternoon at the Methodist church at 2 o'clock, with burial in Hillside cemetery.
