CIVIL WAR VETERAN

John W. Preston Died Suddenly at His Home, Duxbury Corners.

Waterbury, Dec. 31. John W. Preston passed away at his home at Duxbury Corners at nine o'clock this morning very suddenly. He was a veteran of the Civil war and is survived by his widow, Emma Davis Scott, to whom he was married about thirty-one years ago. He has been a resident here for many years. His first wife was Julia Sprague who died about thirty-five years ago.
