NATIVE OF BARNARD DEAD.
Alfred E. Rand Was Next to Last Civil War Veteran in Pittsfield, N.H.
Pittsfield, N.H., Jan. 10. (A.P) - Alfred E. Rand, 88, next to last Civil war veteran in this town, died late last night. He was aa native of Barnard, Vt., where he was born Dec. 3, 1844. He held membership in the Orville Bixby post, G.A.R., at South Royalton, Vt., and was the oldest member of Rising Sun Lodge of Masons at Bethel, Vt. Alonzo Jones remains as Pittsfield's only survivor of the Civil war.
