Remarks: Despite what the gravestone says, this is Winfield Scott Robinson of the 9th Vermont. The information on the gravestone agrees with what was on the application, which also gave his date of death as 11/5/1878. But that too is wrong, as he died, according to his death certificate, on 11/5/1877.
