The 1892 Revised Roster lists Rood as credited to Brookfield, which I assumed was Brookfield, Vermont, but the 1863 Draft Registration has him listed as a resident of Brookfield, Mass., and said he was in a Vermont unit.

"The deceased was a pensioner of the United States." His next of kin was listed as Miss Clara Rood, 656 Main Street, Worcester, Mass., his niece. She had been listed a couple times in the various National Home records listed above.
