Charles Sanborn
St. Johnsbury Caledonian
Dec. 30, 1864
Killed near Strasburg, Va., Sept. 22, Charles, son of John W. and Lois Sanborn, of Sheffield. He belonged to the 3d Regt. of Vt. Vols., was killed in action while nobly defending his country's flag. From letters received from his captain and 1st lieutenant it appears he was a brave and noble soldier. Hs own letters also give his parents hope that he was a Christian. His age was 20 years. His funeral services will be on Sabbath the 8th day of Jan. next, at 11 o'clock A.M. at Wheelock Hollow.Contributed by Tom Boudreau.
