Charles D. Shedd

Rutland Daily Herald, June 12, 1909:

Charles D. Shedd, aged 86 years, died at his home at Center Rutland last evening after a brief illness.

Mr. Shedd was born in Mendon and had lived in the town of Rutland for many years. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served with company B., 9th Vermont volunteers, and was a member of Roberts post, Grand Army of the Republic.

Mr. Shedd is survived by his wife, two daughters, Miss Elizabeth H. Shedd and Mrs. Nellie Morehouse of Rutland, a brother, F.W. Shedd of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. William Clark of Lowell, Mass., and S.D. Heath of New York city.

The funeral will be held at the house Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
