March 31,1887

The second death was that of Abraham Sherman, who died Thursday, March 24th. He was a member of Co. A, 2d Vermont Regiment, during the late war. He was a good soldier; was wounded at Charles Town, (W)Va. The funeral was held at the Union church, the Rev. Colesworthy of Reads- boro preaching the sermon. There was a large delegation present from the A.L. Pike Post, G.A.R., of which he was a member.
