AN OLD SOLDIER DEAD.
Waterbury, Dec. 13. - Arnold B. Shonio, a brave soldier and respected citizen of Duxbury, passed suddenly away at his home Sunday morning, aged 61 years. September 9, 1861, he enlisted in Co. G. 8th regiment Vt. Vols., and served honorably till October 17, 1863, when he was discharged because of having lost a leg while fighting at the battle of Fredericksburg. He was a member of Edward Dillingham post, G.A.R., of this place. A wife, with five children, survives him. His funeral will be held at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from his late home.
