February 22, 1905
Chauncey Shonio, a veteran of the Civil War, died on Loomis Hill, last Wednesday at the home of his son, where he had been but a few days. The burial was in Duxbury. Mr. Shonio first went with Company D of the Second Vermont, re-enlisted in the Sixth Vermont Volunteers. Most of his life was spent in Duxbury and Moretown.
