Obituary
THREE NORTHFIELD DEATHS.
Horace Briggs, Mrs. Homer Dutton and Mrs. Frank J. Moriarty.
Northfield, Jan. 29. - Saturday, Sunday and Monday each recorded a death in this place, that of Horace Briggs occurring Saturday, Mrs. Homer Dutton on Sunday and Mrs. Frank J. Moriarty on Monday.
Mr. Briggs was one of the oldest citizens of Northfield. He was born on west hill in this place, June 6, 1838. Here he lived until 1883, when he removed to Northfield Center, where he has since resided. He was a veteran of the Civil war, which somewhat impaired his health. For 26 years Mr. Briggs was sexton of the cemetery at the Center. His last sickness had extended over a year's time. The funeral was held this afternoon, Rev. James R. Sargent of the Congregational church officiating.
