Obituary

DIES INST. ALBANS HOSPITAL FRIDAY

Lucius D. Sturgeon of Sheldon, aged 76 years, died Friday at the St. Albans hospital. The funeral was held at the Methodist church in Rice Hill Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. G. H. Locke of Sheldon officiated. Mrs. W. M. Regan, Miss Peters, Mr. Peters and Mr. King sang. The bearers were W. M. Regan, L. D. Guard, Mr. Rice and Mr. Remington. Burial was in the cemetery at Rice Hill.

Mr. Sturgeon enlisted at Alburg in Company C, 5th Regt. Vt. Vols., in the Civil War. He was wounded May 1864, in the battle of the Wilderness and again October 19, 1864 at Cedar Creek, Va. The latter wound was in the face and the loss of one eye resulted. He was mustered out June 29, 1865. He was a member of A. R. Hurlbut Post, No. 60 G.A.R.

Funeral of Lucius D. Sturgeon

The funeral of Lucius D. Sturgeon, aged 76 years, who died at the St. Albans hospital Friday noon, was held at the Methodist Episcopal church at Rice hill Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. G. H. Locke, of Sheldon, officiating. A quartet composed of Mrs. W.M. Regan, Miss Peters, Mr. Peters, and Mr. King, sang. The bearers were W. M. Regan, L. D. Guard, Mr. Rice and Mr. Remington, and the burial was in the Rice Hill cemetery. Mr. Sturgeon enlisted at Alburg in Company C, 5th Regt. Vt. Vols., in the Civil War.
