Alonzo A. Whitney, a former resident of this town, died at his home in Claremont January 20 from the effects of a shock. The remains were brought here for interment in the Cavendish cemetery the 22d. The Proctorsville lodge of Free Masons officiated at the grave and a delegation from the Ludlow Post, G. A. R., acted as escort.
