Obituary

Increase B. Whitney died at the Soldiers’ Home last Wednesday at the age of 80 years.. He was a member of Company A, Fourth Vermont, and was admitted to the home from Readsboro, May 27, 1887, being the fourth inmate admitted. He was buried in the village cemetery in Heartwellville, in the town of Readsboro.

Increase B. Whitney, late of Co. A, 4th Vt. Regt., aged 80 years, died last week Wednesday at the Soldiers' Home in Bennington. He enlisted in August, 1861, and served until the close of the war, and was the fourth ex-soldier admitted to the Home, May 25, 1887, from Readsboro. This is death No. 67 at the Home.
