Daniel Wormwood, who died February 6 at his home in Groton, was a veteran of the Civil War, having served with Company D, Fifteenth Regiment, Vermont Volunteers.

A.J. Grover, a long-time resident of White River Junction was drowned in the Connecticut River Thursday. He was seen to walk into the river on the Vermont side just above the West Lebanon highway bridge. The body floated down the river for a distance of 200 feet, where it was recovered. It had been in the stream about 20 minutes. Mr. Grover was 85 years old and a veteran of the Civil War.
