Rutland Daily Herald, May 22, 1876:
Local Notes - Nathaniel B. Lewis, whose death is announced under the proper head in another column this morning, was a brave solider and has a good record. He passed through some thirty battles in the war of the rebellion. He is to be buried today by the Grand Army of the Republic, of which he was a member.
Deaths - In Rutland, May 21, at his residence, 30 ½ Center street, of consumption, Nathaniel B. Lewis, in the 45th year of his age.
