Obituary

ARMY CHAPLAIN EXPIRES SUDDENLY

Des Moines, July 1 --- Rev. William Bagley, aged 88 years, died at his home, 1007 Laurel Street, at 8 o'clock last evening. Mr. Bagley was born In Montpelier, Vt., Sept. 1820. and has resided in Iowa the greater part of his life.

He was formerly a minister of the Christian Church, and served four years during the Civil War as Chaplain of the Thirty-fifth Iowa Volunteers.

When the war closed he made his home at Tipton, later coming to Des Moines. He resided in Des Moines about thirty five years.
