Obituary

MIDDLEBURY
Funeral of Venerable Edward Mathews, Who Died Aged Nearly 91.

The funeral of Edward J. Mathews, nearly 91 years old, was held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock at his late home east of the village, the Rev. Henry C. Newell officiating. There was a profusion of flowers. There bearers were his son, C. J. Mathews, two grandsons, Edward and Frederick, and Hartwell Danyeau, Isaac Rogers and Frank Lasher. The burial was in the family lot in the West cemetery.
