Ceylon P. Smith

NEWS & CITIZEN: FEB. 28, 1912
SUICIDE AT SOLDIERS HOME
Cylon P. Smith, who was admitted to the Vermont Soldiers' Home, Bennington, June, 1910, from Tennessee home at Johnson City, committed suicide Thursday afternoon by cutting his throat with a jack-knife. He had been ill with heart trouble for some time.
Smith was a native of New Hampshire, served in Co. C., Fourth Vermont as a musican. He was 75 years old. It was evident that the act was premeditated as his bank account and latest pension check had been made over to a brother in Acworth N. H.
