Alfred F. Spaulding died Nov. 27 at his home in Northfield of heart disease. Mr. Spaulding was 69 years old and a veteran of the Civil war, having served with Co. C, 15th Vt. Vols. He was a mechanic and had conducted a machine shop in Northfield for the last fifteen years. He was an inventor. At one time he sold a patent for $100, 000 to a concern rated at over a million, but the company failed before the transaction was completed.
