Lamoille News Dealer, April 9, 1863:
At Murfreesboro, Tenn., Feb. 11, 1863, in the Military Hospital, of inflamation of the lungs, Sergt. Geo. D. Allen, son of Oliver Allen of Johnson, Vt, aged 34 years, of Co. A. 1st Regt, Wis. Vol. He leaves a wife and two children to mourn the loss of an affectionate husband, and a kind and indulgent father.Submitted by Deanna French.
