Obituary
Northfield Notes
Oscar Beard died last Friday night of heart disease and the funeral took place on Sunday, the interment being made in the village cemetery. Johnson Post, G. A. R., of which the deceased was a member, had charge of the funeral and attended in a body. Rev. Mr. East, of the Universalist society, officiated at the funeral. Mr. Beard was a man of about 45 years of age, never married and was a veteran. He has been at the Soldiers' Home in Bennington and during his visits in Northfield he has stopped with his mother.
